Geely E2 and Peugeot E-2008 Boost European Electric Vehicle Offerings
Chinese automaker Geely announced the European debut of its compact electric hatchback, the E2, which sold 465,775 units in China in 2025 and topped overall sales that year. The model, known domestically as the Xingyuan, will be marketed in the EU as a small city hatchback with a 39.4 kWh battery, an 85 kW rear motor and a WLTP‑rated range of about 317 km. Geely says the chassis has been tuned for European roads and the vehicle offers a 70‑liter front trunk and a rear‑boot capacity up to 1,320 liters, though pricing and rollout dates have not yet been disclosed.
French brand Peugeot highlighted updates to its E‑2008 electric SUV, built at its Vigo plant in Spain. The SUV is equipped with a 156‑hp motor, delivers up to 430 km of range, and can charge from 20 % to 80 % in roughly 27 minutes on a fast charger. Inside, the car features the i‑Cockpit with a 10‑inch HD touchscreen, integrated ChatGPT assistance, and optional 3‑D holographic digital displays. Safety systems include adaptive cruise control, stop‑and‑go, and automatic emergency braking. These additions underline both manufacturers’ push to broaden affordable, technology‑rich EV choices for European drivers.
