Geely EX2 electric hatchback launches in Australia as China's best‑selling EV

Geely's EX2 compact electric hatchback, which was the best‑selling electric vehicle in China in 2025 with nearly 466,000 units sold, is set to arrive in Australia later this month. The entry‑level EX2 Complete will be priced from AUD 26,490 before on‑road costs and is equipped with a rear‑wheel‑drive 60 kW/150 Nm motor, a 35.3 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery and a WLTP‑rated range of about 252 km. A higher‑spec Inspire version, priced from AUD 30,990, offers an 85 kW motor, a 47.1 kWh battery and a claimed 345 km range, along with additional features such as heated seats, a wireless charger and a surround‑view camera.

Both models include a 14.6‑inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, LED headlights and a suite of safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, blind‑spot monitoring and traffic‑sign recognition. Geely, which also owns Volvo, Zeekr, Lotus and Polestar and co‑owns Smart with Mercedes‑Benz, plans to have six Geely‑branded models on the Australian market by 2028, all built on its Global Intelligent Electric Architecture platform.
