Geely EX5 electric SUV launches in Thailand with high price, draws early praise in Vietnam

Geely has introduced the EX5 MAX+ electric SUV in Thailand with an official price of 929,000 baht, reduced to 899,000 baht for the first 400 units. The model features a 160 kW (218 hp) permanent‑magnet synchronous motor, 320 Nm of torque, and a 68.39 kWh LFP “Short‑Blade” battery that delivers up to 525 km (NEDC) on a single charge. It accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in about 7.6 seconds and offers full‑LED headlights, a smart‑key system, emergency door‑handle mechanism and a spacious 5‑seat cabin. Dimensions are 4.615 m long, 1.901 m wide and 1.670 m high.

In Vietnam, early adopter Bùi Anh Ngọc bought the EX5 in August 2025 and after nearly a year highlighted the vehicle’s rapid throttle response, strong sound system and comfortable ride. The Vietnamese spec uses a 214 hp electric motor with 320 Nm torque and a 60.22 kWh LFP battery. Ngọc reported a minor front‑mirror crash that was repaired under warranty, confirming Geely’s service support. Overall, both markets note the EX5’s competitive performance despite its premium price tag.
