Renault Geely announces R$ 2 billion investment in Brazil for electrified vehicles

Renault Geely do Brasil has announced an additional R$ 2 billion investment in the country, bringing the total accumulated investment for the 2025-2027 period to R$ 5.8 billion. This funding is part of a strategic joint venture where Geely holds a 26.4% stake in Renault do Brasil.

The investments will focus on the production of electrified vehicles at the Ayrton Senna Industrial Complex in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. Local production of the Geely EX5 EM-i hybrid plug-in SUV has already commenced, with market availability expected by the end of the year. Additionally, the company confirmed that assembly of the Geely EX2, a fully electric compact hatchback, is scheduled to begin in December 2026.

Looking further ahead, the partnership aims to develop a new Renault-brand electrified model using Geely’s Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) platform, slated for the Brazilian market in 2027. This includes the development of the Renault E-Tech 4x4 flex-fuel hybrid powertrain to meet local demand for dual-fuel capabilities.
