Geely introduces E2 electric compact car
Geely has introduced the E2, an all-electric compact car built on the company’s Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform. The vehicle is designed to compete in the B-segment, a category that has become increasingly difficult for European manufacturers to navigate profitably due to strict safety and environmental regulations.
The E2 features a minimalist design with available two-tone paint and celestial-inspired colors. In its Max and Max+ configurations, it utilizes a 47.14 kWh LFP battery, providing a combined WLTP range of 345 kilometers. The car is powered by an 85 kW (116 hp) electric motor with 150 Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels.
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the E2 offers significant interior space and a total cargo capacity of 445 liters, which includes a 375-liter rear trunk and a 70-liter front trunk (frunk). While suitable for urban driving, the vehicle's performance is more restrained at highway speeds, with a top speed of approximately 130 km/h.
