Geely launches E2 electric vehicle in European markets
Geely has officially launched the E2, a segment B electric vehicle, in European markets including Romania and Spain. The model, which previously saw high sales volumes in China, is being positioned as a highly competitive option against established rivals such as the Renault 5, Volkswagen ID. Polo, and BYD Dolphin.
In Romania, the E2 is available in three versions—Pro, Max, and Ultra—with prices ranging from €21,990 to €26,990. The vehicle was specifically developed for European requirements, featuring a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, 540-degree panoramic cameras, and a rear-wheel-drive configuration. It has achieved 5-star ratings under the 2026 Euro NCAP and ANCAP protocols.
Geely product chief Zack Zhang identified interior space as the E2’s primary competitive advantage. With a length of 4,135 mm and a wheelbase of 2,645 mm, the E2 is significantly longer than the Renault 5 and the Volkswagen ID. Polo. The company invested over 7,200 development hours in Germany and Sweden to adapt the vehicle for European urban and interurban driving standards.
