Geely launches EX2 electric hatch with incentives in Australia
Geely has introduced its low‑cost EX2 electric hatchback to the Australian market. Prices start at AU$26,490 before on‑road costs, and the company is offering a package of incentives that includes a free 7 kW home charger, complimentary premium paint options and an ultra‑low 0.68% finance comparison rate for 36 months, available until 31 August.
The model arrives in two variants. The entry‑level Complete version is equipped with a 35 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery, delivering up to 252 km of WLTP range, while the higher‑spec Inspire version carries a 47 kWh pack and a claimed 345 km range. Both use rear‑wheel drive and support DC fast‑charging (60 kW for Complete, 80 kW for Inspire) with AC charging limited to 6 kW. The first batch landed in Australia in July via roll‑on‑roll‑off ships and will compete with rivals such as the MG4 Urban, BYD Dolphin and GAC Aion UT, while undercutting the Toyota Corolla Hybrid’s price.
In China, the EX2 has become Geely’s best‑selling model, with over 800,000 units sold domestically. Geely aims to expand its Australian presence, using the EX2’s affordable pricing, spacious design, safety features and technology to attract first‑time EV buyers.
