Geely unveils 16‑in‑1 electric drive to cut weight and boost efficiency

Geely has introduced a world‑first 16‑in‑1 intelligent electric drive that combines twelve hardware functions and four software/control functions into a single 75‑kilogram unit. The integration reduces component count by more than 180 parts, cuts high‑voltage cable length by 30 %, lowers low‑voltage wiring by 15 % and frees roughly 28 liters of vehicle space, while delivering a CLTC efficiency of about 93.8 %.

The system utilizes an 800‑volt architecture with silicon‑carbide power electronics and supports fast charging up to 6C. It will make its production debut in the updated Lynk & Co 02 (sold in China as the Lynk & Co Z20, to be renamed Lynk & Co 20) expected in the third quarter of 2026, and in Geely’s Galaxy TT series. Developed with power‑train specialist InfiMotion, the drive meets ASPICE Level 3 and ASIL‑D functional‑safety standards and builds on earlier InfiMotion milestones such as a 900 V magnesium‑alloy coaxial drive.

InfiMotion supplies similar electric‑drive solutions to other Geely‑owned brands including Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover, positioning the technology as a key component for future electric‑vehicle models across the group.
