Geely unveils AI-powered 2,250 kW ultra-fast charging technology

Geely has unveiled its fifth-generation Smart Charging technology, a system capable of delivering up to 2,250 kW of peak power. This ultra-rapid charging solution utilizes the AI-driven Xingrui PowerMind model to manage thermal conditions by predicting battery temperature changes 30 seconds in advance. The system aims to maintain average battery temperatures below 55°C and peak temperatures under 65°C through a five-point liquid cooling method.

In recent tests involving Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 models equipped with Shendun Golden Batteries, the technology achieved a charge from 10% to 70% in 4 minutes and 30 seconds, and from 10% to 97% in 8 minutes and 40 seconds. To mitigate the effects of rapid charging, Geely is employing micro-pulse current technology to restore lithium ions, which the company claims can extend battery life cycles by up to 20%.

In a separate strategic move, Geely Holding Group has announced a partnership to acquire a 30% stake in Nio Power. This collaboration aims to integrate charging and battery-swapping infrastructures and develop standardized battery-swapping protocols for future electric vehicles. Additionally, Geely's EX2 model has achieved a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, highlighting the brand's focus on safety alongside technological advancement.
