Geely reaches one million units produced for EX2 electric model

Chinese automotive manufacturer Geely has reached a production milestone of one million units for its EX2 electric supermini. The milestone was achieved on October 20, 2026, just two years after the model entered production in October 2024.

In the Chinese market, the model—known as the ‘Star Wish’ or ‘Xingyuan’—became the country’s best-selling car of 2025. The production pace has accelerated significantly, with the last 200,000 units manufactured in only two months.

Geely is currently expanding the model's international presence. In Europe, the vehicle is marketed as the Geely E2 and features technical specifications tailored for the region, such as rear-wheel drive and independent multi-link rear suspension. Starting in 2028, European-specification models are expected to be manufactured at the Ford plant in Valencia.

The E2 lineup includes three trim levels—Pro, Max, and Ultra—offering two battery options: a 35 kWh unit providing up to 252 km of range, and a 47 kWh unit providing up to 345 km of range under WLTP standards.
