Geely’s budget electric hatchback tops Chinese sales and launches in Europe

Geely’s compact electric hatchback – sold in China as the Xingyuan and in Europe as the EX2 – recorded 465,775 registrations in China in 2025, making it the market’s best‑selling model. In the first half of the year it sold about 244,000 units, surpassing rivals such as Tesla’s Model Y, Xiaomi’s SU7 and Leapmotor’s A10.

The car is priced at 64,800 yuan (≈ €8,350) in China, offering LFP batteries with claimed ranges of 310–480 km (CLTC) and a rapid charge from 30 % to 80 % in 19 minutes. The five‑door hatchback measures 4.13 m in length with a 2.65 m wheelbase and includes features such as a 14.6‑inch infotainment screen, adaptive cruise control and advanced parking assistance.

In Europe the same model is marketed as the EX2. In the United Kingdom it starts at £20,990 (≈ 600,000 CZK) for a 35 kWh battery and reaches £25,490 for a 47 kWh version, with a WLTP‑tested range up to 344 km. The higher price reflects certification, safety and software requirements for the European market.
