Gelecek Partisi officially dissolves following delegate vote

The Gelecek Partisi, led by Ahmet Davutoğlu, has officially dissolved following a decision made at a dissolution congress on August 22, 2026. During the vote, 164 out of 180 delegates supported the decision to end the party's political activities, while 16 voted to continue.

In an official statement, the party explained that the decision was made to avoid becoming part of a 'polluted political climate' and to preserve its core principles and ethical foundations. The party, which was founded on December 12, 2019, emphasized that this move is not a surrender but a commitment to its values.

DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan responded to the news by expressing respect for the decision, noting that the Gelecek Partisi's struggle for democracy, the rule of law, and political ethics will be remembered with appreciation.
