Gemona del Friuli Bocelli concert faces corruption probe

Diego Moretti, the Democratic Party leader in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council, has filed a formal complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) and the regional Court of Auditors regarding an Andrea Bocelli concert scheduled for May 7, 2026, in Gemona del Friuli.

The complaint focuses on the negotiated procedure used to organize the event without a public tender. Moretti is seeking clarity on whether the administrative process involved irregularities.

Beyond technical concerns, the Democratic Party is contesting the use of over 3 million euros in public funds for the event. Moretti described the expenditure as “ethically and in fact unacceptable” and stated that officials must provide accountability to citizens regarding this allocation of resources.
