Diego Moretti, the Democratic Party leader in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council, has filed a formal complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) and the regional Court of Auditors. Moretti is seeking clarity on potential administrative irregularities and has contested the use of public funds, describing the expenditure as “ethically and in fact unacceptable.”

An official complaint previously prepared for ANAC alleged a conflict of interest, noting that the owner of FVG Live is a business partner of the son of regional Civil Protection Councilor Riccardo Riccardi.

In response, Riccardo Riccardi filed a defamation lawsuit with the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office against editors Mario Giordano and Maurizio Belpietro of the newspaper La Verità. Riccardi denies the claims, stating his involvement was limited to the earthquake anniversary committee and that he had no role in the procurement process. He maintains that neither his son nor any companies linked to him received contracts related to the event. His lawsuit also seeks to investigate whether there was a political mastermind behind the publication, noting the timing coincides with regional political polling.
