Kosovo launches 37 million euro social housing project

The Kosovo government has introduced a 37 million euro social housing project aimed at supporting families in need across 21 municipalities. Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti described the initiative as a vital investment in social security, equality, and human dignity, stating that the state must provide adequate housing for those facing economic difficulties.

The funding for the project is composed of 25 million euros secured through a loan agreement with the Council of Europe Development Bank and 12 million euros allocated from the Kosovo budget. Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Fitore Pacolli announced that the signing of agreements with the 21 beneficiary municipalities is scheduled to begin this coming Monday.

In a separate development regarding public health, the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (IKSHPK) and the Prishtina Regional Water Company (KRU) have strengthened their institutional cooperation. The focus of this partnership is to enhance the monitoring of drinking water quality and ensure a continuous, safe, and high-quality water supply for the Prishtina region.
