General Motors celebrates 30 years of OnStar and launches new fleet platform
General Motors' OnStar connectivity and assistance system has reached its 30-year milestone globally. The service, which provides emergency assistance, vehicle diagnostics, and remote monitoring, currently serves over 12 million subscribers across 22 markets. In Brazil, the service has been operational for 11 years since its 2015 launch. GM expects to have approximately 1 million vehicles equipped with the Super Cruise hands-free driving feature by the end of 2026.
Building on this legacy, GM has launched the OnStar Fleet Intelligence platform. This new tool is designed to assist companies in managing vehicle operations through a unified dashboard. The platform integrates vehicle data to help fleet managers track asset productivity, fuel efficiency, geofencing, and total operating costs. It allows for the management of multiple vehicles under a single account, streamlining administrative tasks and providing data-driven insights for business scaling.
