General Motors discusses technical feasibility of electrified Corvette

Tony Roma, General Motors' executive chief engineer for Corvette and sports cars, has stated that combining the LT6 engine with electrification is technically possible. While discussing the potential for a Corvette Z06X, Roma noted that the C8 Corvette architecture already includes space between the front wheels for an electric motor.

Roma clarified that there is no official announcement regarding a Z06X version. He emphasized that any move toward electrification would depend on consumer interest and significant investment, noting that electrification is a costly option. The engineering team is focused on projects that align with business needs and customer demand.
