President Abelardo de la Espriella has reported significant results from a nationwide security offensive aimed at dismantling organized crime. Since August 7, the government claims to have executed 1,574 arrests and 10 extraditions, while seizing 23,642 kilograms of narcotics, including 12,296 kilograms of cocaine.

Key operations include the arrest of 11 members of the Segunda Marquetalia's Frente 53 in Puerto Gaitán, Meta, and two members of the Clan del Golfo in Fundación, Magdalena. In Popayán, Cauca, authorities successfully rescued a kidnapped merchant. Additionally, a cocaine processing laboratory was destroyed in La Macarena.

In the metropolitan area of Barranquilla, the President announced the formation of a National Search Block to combat extortion and promised increased support for law enforcement. Other regional successes include the arrest of 510 individuals in Bogotá during a single week and the dismantling of the 'La Terraza' criminal group in El Peñol, Antioquia, resulting in 14 arrests.
