General Roman Polko opposes mandatory military conscription in Poland

General Roman Polko has addressed the debate regarding mandatory military conscription in Poland, arguing against its immediate reinstatement. Polko stated that there is currently no need for compulsory service because there are many volunteers willing to undergo training.

Instead of forced conscription, Polko emphasized the necessity of developing a concrete military training plan. This includes improving infrastructure, methodology, and instructor availability. He highlighted the importance of training reserves in modern technologies, specifically noting that every soldier must be capable of operating drones to be effective in contemporary warfare.

This discussion follows comments from Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Deputy Minister of National Defence, who suggested that mandatory conscription should be restored.
