General Vitagliano departs Gorizia command for new Carabinieri role

Brigadier General Gabriele Vitagliano, Commander of the Carabinieri Legion of Friuli Venezia Giulia, has completed an institutional visit to the Gorizia Provincial Command ahead of his transfer. Vitagliano will move to a new role within the Carabinieri's training organization in early September.

During his visit, Vitagliano emphasized three strategic priorities that have guided the Legion over the past two years: proximity to citizens, enhanced territorial control, and the fight against predatory and cross-border crime. These efforts have reportedly strengthened institutional relations with local authorities and fostered coordinated operational initiatives.

Brigadier General Gerardo Petitto has been designated to succeed Vitagliano in the region.
