Generalitat Valenciana digitizes waste management systems

The Generalitat Valenciana has completed a comprehensive digital overhaul of its waste management and control systems. This initiative aims to modernize administrative procedures and improve the tracking of waste produced, managed, or transported within the region.

Funded by the Next Generation EU through the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the project was implemented by the Directorate General of Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC) and promoted by the Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure, Territory, and Recovery. The new model replaces manual and fragmented processes with a centralized technological ecosystem.

A key component of this transformation is SGARES, a new administrative management system. This platform consolidates procedures for companies involved in waste production and management into a single environment, reducing inefficiencies and providing real-time, reliable data for both the administration and industry operators.
