Valencian Community waste management digitalization

Overview

The Generalitat Valenciana has implemented a digital overhaul of its waste management and control systems in the Valencian Community. This initiative transitions the region from a fragmented, manual model to a centralized digital infrastructure.

Funded by Next Generation EU recovery funds and implemented by the Directorate General for Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC), the project aims to modernize administrative procedures and improve the tracking of waste production, management, and transport. A central element of this transformation is SGARES, a new administrative management system that consolidates procedures for companies into a single environment to reduce bureaucracy and provide real-time data for both the administration and the private sector.
