Generalitat Valenciana modernizes waste management with new digital platforms

The Generalitat Valenciana has completed a comprehensive overhaul of its waste management and control system in the Valencian Community. Through two strategic technological projects, the administration is transitioning from a fragmented, manual model to a centralized digital infrastructure.

One of the primary components is SGARES, a new administrative management system that centralizes all procedures required by companies involved in the production, management, or transport of waste. This platform aims to reduce bureaucratic burdens, improve administrative efficiency, and allow for real-time data analysis and business intelligence.

The initiative, driven by the Directorate General for Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC) and funded by Next Generation EU recovery funds, is intended to enhance transparency and oversight throughout the waste treatment chain while providing more reliable information for both the administration and private sector entities.
