Generation Z redefines American Dream amid homeownership challenges
A recent study by global consultancy Simon-Kucher reveals that economic pressures are causing Generation Z in the United States to redefine the ‘American Dream.’ Many young people are shifting their focus away from traditional long-term financial milestones, such as homeownership and retirement savings, in favor of immediate quality of life.
According to the study, 62% of respondents believe that owning a home and saving for retirement have become more difficult to achieve. Consequently, 51% of Gen Z individuals reported that they have deprioritized saving for a house to focus on personal experiences, flexibility, and stability in their current lives.
