Genesis completes debut at Le Mans 24 Hours, finishes 13th in hypercar class

South Korean luxury brand Genesis entered the 2024 Le Mans 24‑hour race for the first time with its Magma Racing team in the hypercar class. Two cars, #19 and #17, were fielded. Car #19 completed 372 laps, covering more than 5,000 km at an average speed of 220.6 km/h, and crossed the finish line in 13th place overall. Car #17 ran as high as fourth during the race but retired after a suspension‑damage incident.

The team cited the endurance test as a source of valuable data on cooling, durability, aerodynamics and energy management that will be used for future high‑performance Genesis models. The race was won by Toyota, with BMW second and Toyota third. Genesis’ next challenge is the São Paulo 6‑hour race in Brazil in October.
