Genesis unveils GV90 flagship electric SUV
Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai Motor Group, has unveiled the GV90, its first full-size flagship electric SUV. Debuted at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the vehicle is designed to compete with high-end models from Range Rover, Cadillac, and Rolls-Royce.
The GV90 will be available in two primary configurations: a standard version with traditional swing doors and a high-end Neolun variant. The Neolun features the ‘Neolun Arch Gate,’ a world-first design utilizing independently opening coach-style doors that eliminate the traditional B-pillar to provide an expansive entrance. To maintain safety without the B-pillar, Genesis implemented a reinforced cabin with high-strength steel tubes and a hidden roll cage structure.
Technically, the GV90 is built on the dedicated eMP (Electric Mobility Prime) platform. It features a 123.5 kWh battery, providing an estimated range of approximately 500 km (311 miles). The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers up to 666 horsepower (490 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. Other notable features include 350 kW fast charging, rear-wheel steering, multi-chamber air suspension, and a 25-inch head-up display. The interior offers luxury appointments such as rotating front seats, heated wood floors, and a cinematic OLED display.
The GV90 is expected to enter global markets, including the US and Australia, starting in 2027.
