Genesis unveils Magma GT and GT3 concepts at Le Mans
Genesis presented two new performance concepts, the Magma GT luxury grand‑tourer and the purpose‑built Magma GT3 race car, during the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The concepts were shown alongside the brand’s GMR‑001 Hypercar, which qualified sixth and ninth on the grid; the #17 car retired after a suspension failure while the #19 finished 13th.
Developed in collaboration with Hyundai Motorsport, the GT3 version complies with GT3 racing regulations and features a wider stance, a large front splitter, enlarged cooling ducts, a rear wing and diffuser to maximise downforce and thermal management. The road‑focused Magma GT showcases an athletic‑elegance design with a low‑front nose, wide fenders and a driver‑centred two‑seat cockpit, employing leather, Alcantara and brushed‑aluminium interiors. Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke said, "The concepts Magma GT and Magma GT3 represent two distinct but connected expressions of performance, from refined grand‑touring to uncompromising motorsport."
Both concepts are described as independent studies exploring how race‑derived engineering could influence future Genesis performance models, without confirming production or competition plans.
