Genesis unveils Magma performance series with high‑output GV60 electric SUV

Genesis, the luxury marque of South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group, has introduced the Magma performance series, aiming to compete with AMG and BMW M. The first model, the GV60 Magma, is an electric SUV‑coupé equipped with two motors delivering a combined 478 kW (650 hp). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just over three seconds and reaches a top speed of 264 km/h. Pricing starts at €85,990, with an added €10,000 option for the full‑power package.

The vehicle features larger wheel arches, side skirts and a pronounced rear spoiler, along with a proprietary artificial motor sound and a drift‑mode. Additional driver‑assist features include a virtual gearbox, torque‑cut limiter and specialised driving programmes. The underlying technology is drawn from Hyundai’s N‑version Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 platforms.
