Geoje receives flood relief aid from Gurye County and local agencies

Various organizations and local governments are providing relief and recovery support to Geoje following heavy rainfall and flooding.

The Korea Rural Community Corporation's Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters and its Goseong-Tongyeong-Geoje branch donated 5 million won to the Korean Red Cross to assist in recovering from flood damage and supporting affected farming households.

Additionally, Gurye County, a sister city of Geoje since 1998, has mobilized significant aid. A delegation of approximately 80 people, including County Mayor Jang Gil-seon and local council members, visited Geoje to deliver relief supplies and funds totaling 22.5 million won. This aid includes 12 million won in cash and 10.5 million won worth of essential goods such as water, instant rice, and cup noodles. Volunteers from Gurye have also been deployed to affected areas like Jangseungpo-dong and Dundeok-myeon to clear soil and organize flooded greenhouses.
