Geordie Greep addresses sexual assault allegations during Vancouver performance
Musician Geordie Greep, former frontman of the band Black Midi, addressed sexual assault allegations during a performance in Vancouver. The incident occurred following reports of flyers distributed outside the venue accusing Greep of sexual assault.
During a speech to the audience, Greep denied the allegations of rape, describing the event as a “complete misunderstanding.” He stated that while out at a house party, he “made a move and it didn’t come off,” adding that he apologized immediately and felt “extremely sorry” for making someone feel uncomfortable.
Greep also addressed the absence of his usual backing band during the set, noting he did not want to force them to perform under the circumstances. In separate reports regarding his recent musical activities, Greep has been performing solo material from his debut, ‘The New Sound’, characterized by maximalist, genre-spanning arrangements.
