Georgia courts deliver major drug trafficking convictions

A federal jury in Athens, Georgia convicted two men, Josue Serda and Gregory Robinson, of operating a cartel‑linked network that distributed fentanyl, methamphetamine and other drugs. The investigation, led by the FBI, resulted in the seizure of 26 firearms, over 1.7 kg of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, pharmaceutical pills and more than $63,000 in cash. Both defendants face maximum life sentences in federal prison.

In Gwinnett County, Georgia, two members of the Sureño gang, Melvis Argenis Corrales and Marcos Junior Sandoval, were sentenced to 40 years each after a year‑long investigation by the Gwinnett County Metro Police Drug Task Force. They were convicted of RICO violations, gang‑related terrorism offenses and intent to distribute methamphetamine, with the court ordering 20 years to be served in prison.
