Georgia heat advisory issued as triple-digit heat index expected

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for north and central Georgia, warning that heat index values will reach triple digits early next week. A heat advisory is likely for a large portion of the state on Monday and Tuesday if the trend continues.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast for central and north Georgia through Tuesday, with gusty winds and frequent lightning possible in the afternoon. Temperatures in the lower‑to‑mid 90s combined with high humidity will make evenings feel like the triple‑digit range, prompting meteorologists to monitor weak frontal boundaries that could bring additional isolated showers.
