Georgia-registered truck crash in Erzurum, Turkey avoids fatalities

A Georgia‑registered heavy truck lost control on the Erzurum‑Artvin highway near the town of Uzundere in eastern Turkey. The vehicle crossed a safety refuge, struck a depot wall containing a crane and electric poles, and came to a stop after demolishing the structure.

Because the driver was wearing a safety belt, he escaped injury despite the severe impact. Local residents rushed to assist, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The accident caused a brief traffic disruption, and an investigation into the cause has been opened by Turkish authorities.
