Georgia Senate race faces controversy over staffer's racist posts

The Georgia Senate race between Republican Mike Collins and Democrat Jon Ossoff has intensified following reports of controversial figures associated with the candidates. Recent investigations revealed that Preston Parra, a former staffer who worked in Collins’s congressional office in 2024 and later for his leadership PAC, posted imagery including KKK robes, Nazi swastikas, and racist remarks online.

A spokesperson for the Collins campaign described the posts as “vile” and “completely unhinged,” stating that Parra has no current affiliation with the office or the campaign. This follows previous reports involving Collins’s son-in-law, who was noted for sharing posts promoting white supremacy and antisemitism, though Collins stated his son-in-law holds no role in the campaign.

Senator Ossoff’s campaign has used these reports to characterize the Republican nominee as being surrounded by bigoted figures. In response, Collins has criticized Ossoff for his own political allies, alleging a rise in antisemitism among younger Americans associated with the Democratic side.
