Jon Ossoff Leads Senate Fundraising and Targets Trump in Georgia Race

Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia has emerged as the top fundraiser among Senate candidates, having raised about $77 million and holding $42.5 million in cash as of June 30. Overall, Democratic Senate hopefuls have collected $574 million, outpacing Republican candidates who have raised $336 million.

Ossoff is using his fundraising advantage to launch a vigorous campaign against former President Donald Trump, branding Trump a “national disgrace” and the leader of a “Mar‑a‑Lago mafia.” He has framed his race as a fight to protect Georgia and to prevent Trump‑aligned policies from influencing the state. The Georgia contest is the only Democratic Senate seat up for election in a state Trump won in 2024, and it is viewed as pivotal for Democrats' goal of regaining a Senate majority.
