Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto denies feminicide allegations in wife's death

Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto has denied allegations of feminicide during interrogations with the São Paulo Military Police and Civil Police. The officer, who is in preventive detention, maintains that his wife, Military Police soldier Gisele Alves Santana, committed suicide at their apartment in central São Paulo on February 18.

During his testimony, Rosa Neto claimed he is being treated like an ‘slave’ in the Romão Gomes prison. He also addressed investigations into digital communications, stating that certain sexualized messages were part of jokes between the couple and admitting he had deleted messages following arguments.

The Public Ministry accuses the officer of shooting Santana in the head with her own weapon and attempting to simulate a suicide following a dispute motivated by jealousy and her intention to separate. A supplementary report from the Institute of Criminalistics concluded that physical evidence contradicts the suicide hypothesis and points toward feminicide. Rosa Neto faces charges of feminicide and procedural fraud and is scheduled to be interrogated by the court on October 5.
