Gerardo Fernández Noroña to record and publicize public confrontations

Mexican Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña, a member of the Morena party, has announced that he will begin recording and publicly exhibiting individuals who confront, insult, or film him in public spaces.

This decision follows a recent incident at Terminal 2 of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM). While returning from Nayarit, the senator was approached by citizens who shouted accusations of corruption and called for the removal of the Morena party.

Fernández Noroña stated that his intention is to provide a complete record of such encounters so that the public can form their own judgment and see multiple perspectives. He distinguished between legitimate political protest and what he characterized as aggression or harassment. While he declined to pursue legal action against the individuals involved in the airport incident, he emphasized that he will use social media to share footage of future confrontations to ‘shed light’ on these situations.
