German and Swiss authorities execute arrests during border controls

Law enforcement agencies in Germany and Switzerland conducted various border and traffic controls over a recent weekend, resulting in multiple arrests and fines.

In Germany, the Federal Police executed several arrest warrants during checks on the A 6 motorway in Waidhaus. Out of five warrants, three individuals paid their outstanding fines immediately to continue their travels, while two men were taken into custody and sent to the Weiden correctional facility. The operations collected approximately 2,780 euros in fines.

In the Bern region of Switzerland, the Cantonal Police, in collaboration with the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, conducted targeted inspections of cross-border traffic. These operations involved checking 19 vehicles and 348 individuals. The authorities identified 58 customs violations involving undeclared goods such as meat, tobacco, and spirits. Additionally, three individuals were arrested for unlawful residence and issued entry bans, while several others were cited for vehicle safety violations and drug offenses.
