German Armed Forces Day attracts over 150,000 visitors across multiple sites

Defense Minister Boris Pistorius praised the strong public response at this year’s Bundeswehr Day, which saw more than 107,000 visitors at ten locations nationwide, including a university showcase in Neubiberg near Munich. The event featured military equipment displays, aircraft, parachute jumps and a focus on artillery history in Weiden.

The Support Command’s Bundeswehr Day 2026 sites in Höxter and Weißenfels welcomed nearly 50,000 guests. Generalleutnant Gerald Funke highlighted the importance of civil‑military cooperation, while Dr. Ralf Hoffmann stressed the role of medical services. Visitors experienced demonstrations of ABC‑defence, field‑jäger units, parachute displays and aircraft fly‑overs, and received information on career opportunities within the armed forces.

Both initiatives underscored the Bundeswehr’s effort to increase transparency and strengthen ties with German society.
