German Art Programs Highlight Color in Books and Modern Painting

On 29 July 2026 the Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst in Hörstel hosted a lecture by librarian Reinhard Feldmann on the history and contemporary use of colour in books, covering medieval illumination, 19th‑century lithography and modern book design. The free event, held in the adjacent St Bernhard church at 18:00, required registration by 27 July due to limited seating.

The same day the Kulturhaus Spandau presented a workshop titled “Starke Farben – Die Freiheit der Farbe in der modernen Kunst” as part of the “Retrospektive Kunstprojekt: ExperimenTiergarten (1998‑2026)” exhibition. Led by artist Christian Ulrich, participants explored the expressive power of bold colours through guided discussion and hands‑on creation, with materials provided and free entry.

Both programs emphasized the artistic and perceptual impact of colour, offering free public access and encouraging community involvement in artistic practice.
