German business groups warn health financing reform threatens pharma investments

The Rhineland‑Palatinate business association LVU warned that the federal GKV contribution‑stabilisation law could force major pharmaceutical companies such as Boehringer Ingelheim and Eli Lilly to curb or cancel new investments in the region, risking irreversible damage to key industries.

The Saxon medical chamber also criticised Berlin's health‑policy agenda, rejecting mandatory second‑opinion procedures and warning that the planned GOÄ reform could cut revenue for radiology practices by about 36 %. Both groups argue that the reforms undermine investment confidence and the sustainability of Germany's health system.
