German vocational training and skilled labor initiatives

Various German chambers of commerce and political groups are highlighting the importance of vocational training and professional certification to combat the skilled labor shortage.

In Celle, the Handwerkskammer Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Stade honored 33 volunteers for their commitment to vocational education and testing. President Detlef Bade emphasized that volunteerism is an “indispensable basis” for craft self-administration.

In Wiesbaden, the IHK Wiesbaden celebrated 74 graduates, including 65 new masters, noting that such achievements are vital for regional competitiveness. Similarly, the SIHK in Hagen is offering scholarships of up to 9,135 euros to support high-achieving young professionals under age 25 in their further education.

In Lübeck, the CDU highlighted the significance of the crafts sector, with Jens Zimmermann noting that vocational training serves as a critical foundation for addressing the demand for skilled workers.
