German city libraries roll out summer reading program and digital-phone workshops
The Baden‑Baden city library will host a three‑session digital‑skills series called “Ich digital live!” in June and July, offering 30‑minute Zoom‑based courses on practical smartphone use, online daily tasks and safe browsing. Sessions are scheduled for 30 June, 7 July and 14 July and are open to local residents.
Meanwhile, libraries in Ludwigshafen, Speyer and Wörth are participating in the statewide “Lesesommer 2026” reading summer. Children and teens aged 6‑16 can borrow books with a library card, attend author talks such as Lea Zander’s reading in Speyer on 24 June, and join end‑of‑summer parties featuring prizes, including a family stay at Europa‑Park.
