German Communities Offer Free Smartphone Training for Seniors

The Bürgerstiftung Region Bergen runs a free "Handy‑Stammtisch" for seniors in Bergen, meeting every second Friday from 15:00 to 17:00 at the Frauen‑ und Mütterzentrum. No registration is required and participants can bring written questions for the facilitator, Herr Holdack, who assists with Android and iOS devices.

In Delmenhorst, the Familienzentrum Villa provides scheduled senior smartphone workshops on topics such as messaging apps, camera use, navigation and internet browsing. Sessions are held on Tuesdays, either 10:30‑12:00 or 14:00‑15:30, and require participants to bring a charged Android phone. Registration is handled by phone or e‑mail for each individual session. Both programs aim to improve digital literacy among older adults.
