German Construction Companies Boost Apprentice Training Programs
Knauf Trockenbau organized a series of apprenticeship courses in Saarland in August 2026, covering trades such as masonry, plastering, tiling and road construction at the AGV Bau Saar training centre. The program provided theoretical and practical instruction on gypsum, dry‑wall systems and ceiling constructions for second‑year plasterers.
Siegenia announced a multi‑million‑euro investment in its vocational training infrastructure. New facilities at its Wilnsdorf‑Niederdielfen site include a five‑axis milling centre and modern CNC equipment, while a newly opened centre in Velbert features combined hand‑craft and digital technologies, including 3D‑printing. Hans‑Georg Kämpfer, head of personnel management, said the upgrades are “a long‑term strategy to ensure qualified skilled workers for our future,” and Nina Herter, head of personnel development, added that the modern, practice‑oriented conditions are essential even in challenging economic times.
