German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius boosts army logistics and air force training
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited the Bundeswehr’s Supply Battalion 7 in Unna on 21 July to assess the unit’s logistics, transport and maintenance capabilities for the army’s mid‑size forces. He inspected how the battalion supplies ammunition, fuel, spare parts and food, and highlighted direct interaction with soldiers before delivering a press statement.
In a separate move, Pistorius announced that a new air‑force training battalion will be stationed in Fürstenfeldbruck. The decision responds to rising recruit numbers and the introduction of a new conscription system, aiming to expand training capacity and improve infrastructure, logistics and IT security for the Luftwaffe’s education programmes.
