German disability rating GdB 10 provides no benefits

In Germany a Grad der Behinderung (GdB) of 10 can be recorded for mild impairments such as colour‑blindness, tinnitus, autism‑spectrum disorder, depression, obesity or chronic illnesses. However, the Social Welfare Office and the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs state that no entitlement to tax relief, subsidies or special rights is granted at this level. Benefits such as the disabled‑person allowance, higher tax allowances and a Schwerbehindertenausweis only become available from a total GdB of 20, with further entitlements increasing at higher grades. Multiple individual GdB values are not summed; the highest rating is considered, and additional impairments are evaluated for extra impact.
