German educational institutions expand nursing and care training

Educational institutions in Germany are expanding and completing specialized training programs to address the demand for healthcare professionals.

In Meppen, the Volkshochschule (VHS) Meppen is expanding its care and support program through 2027. Following the recent certification of a group trained as outpatient caregivers, the institution plans to introduce an advanced qualification for nursing assistants starting in December 2026. Additionally, a crash course for delegable treatment care is scheduled for early 2027, alongside further courses for inpatient and outpatient caregivers.

In the Viersen and Mönchengladbach region, the LVR-Bildungszentrum für Gesundheit & Pflege has announced that 14 students have successfully completed their three-year nursing training. The graduates, who underwent approximately 2,500 practical hours and 2,100 theoretical-practical units, are expected to continue their careers within the LVR clinics, helping to bolster the local healthcare workforce.
