German Federal Police Carry Out Large‑Scale Anti‑Violence Operations at Major Train Stations

The Federal Police of Germany carried out a nationwide focus operation against violent crime at main railway stations. In Rostock Hauptbahnhof on 24‑25 July 2026, 267 identities were recorded, 214 persons and their belongings were searched and twelve investigations were launched. Police seized cocaine, amphetamines, cannabis, ecstasy, cash and other contraband, including 560 g of amphetamine and 145 g of cannabis.

A simultaneous operation took place at Hamburg and Hannover Hauptbahnhof over two nights, involving about 200 officers. The forces made 1,570 identity checks and 440 searches, securing 40 items such as knives, drugs and pepper‑spray devices. Notably, a 23‑year‑old woman was found carrying replica sword and dagger from a medieval festival, leading to a minor administrative proceeding.
