German firms and municipalities welcome dozens of new apprentices

Across Germany a wave of apprenticeship programmes began in August 2026. Municipal administrations in Göttingen (44 trainees), Rüsselsheim (8), Meppen (11), Frankenthal (7), Sylt (3) and others welcomed new apprentices in fields ranging from administrative support to IT, horticulture and emergency services.

Corporate trainees also started, with Stadtwerke Jena taking on 30 apprentices and dual students, DENIOS SE onboarding six graduates in hazardous‑materials safety, ARNDT Automobile GmbH setting a record with 19 apprentices across its Neuss, Berlin and Frankfurt sites, and Ratiodata hiring 18 newcomers for IT‑related roles at six locations. The announcements stress the importance of early on‑the‑job training, mentorship and long‑term employment prospects, with many organisations noting that a high percentage of graduates are expected to be retained.

These initiatives reflect a broad commitment by both public and private sectors to invest in skilled labour for sectors such as energy supply, municipal services, manufacturing, and digital technologies.
